Save Money Through
As utilities continue raising rates, Michigan families are paying the price not just for energy they use, but for energy they lose. Energy waste makes up a significant amount of our utility bills, and that energy burden is highest among Black, Hispanic, and Native American households.
It's time to establish an energy waste reduction standard, which would save Michigan families at least 2% on their electric bills and 1.5% on their gas bills. It will also enable more electrification of buildings, with a focus on communities that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution.
